Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Originally from Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school to move in Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the main actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace decided to leave the show in order to focus on her film career. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She has appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised the role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes, playing Shannon. The year was 2013, and she was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie, and also an muse for the stars, who catches the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older that Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and was co-starring with her twin brother on Donnie Darko the cult classic. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she was a part of comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) as well as musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as The Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
